Bioindustry Park Silvano Fumero SpA, managing company of the bioPmed Healthcare Innovation Cluster, has been awarded the Gold Label for Cluster Management Excellence by the European Secretariat for Cluster Analysis.

gold label

The award is the highest recognition in Europe for cluster management, until now only awarded to 57 other European clusters (out of 800 analyzed), 7 of which belonging to the Health and Life Sciences field. Bioindustry Park previously obtained the Bronze certification in 2013.

A special international commission evaluated the performance and the management of the bioPmed cluster during the last two years. The assessment has certified the excellence through an evaluation of 31 specific indicators, spanning from the involvement of local actors, to the activities of international communication and including the strategic planning and the effectiveness of the services offered.

The certification is the result of the continuous specialization process of Bioindustry Park. It represents a strong foundation for the development strategies of the Science Park and the Innovation Cluster. The ultimate aim is growth, through the offering of expertise and high value-added services, which are essential for the strategic support to the development of the sector in Piedmont.

This achievement is the result of the actions launched by the regional authorities, by Bioindustry Park Silvano Fumero and by its partners, including Finpiemonte, coordinator of the ACE project – Achieving Cluster Excellence. The ACE project aims to increase the level of excellence in cluster management and to train a pool of local experts in the fields of European methodologies and standard practices. With the support of ACE, 8 other Piedmont clusters have obtained the Bronze certification, attesting the national leading role of the Piedmont Region in the innovation clusters policies.
